Training band

6:45 - 7:30pm Monday evenings (all year round)

5 - 6pm Friday evenings (term-time only)

at Leverton Hall, St Peter's Church, Beales Lane, Farnham, GU10 4PY

Operations

We are a charity. Farnham Brass Band is a Registered Charity (Charity Number 278975) which operates under the management of a Committee which is appointed annually by its members at an Annual General Meeting.

Subscriptions: fees for the year are agreed at the Spring AGM. Membership subscriptions includes the free loan of an instrument (subject to availability), uniform and access to both the senior band and the training band rehearsals.

How we communicate within the band: the majority of messaging is carried out on the band's WhatsApp group and some more lengthy communication is completed by email. Performance information and availability is recorded using the Muzodo app.

Our Musical Directors

David Cunningham

Musical Director

Formerly principal cornet of the Parachute Regiment Band, David founded the Junction 4 Big Band in 2011 and continues to play with a number of local groups including Farnborough Concert Orchestra and Alton Concert Band.

He remains passionate about brass band music and has been Musical Director of Farnham Brass Band since 2024

Gareth Morgan

Deputy Musical Director and Training Band Musical Director

Gareth started playing the trombone at the age of 13, then joined the Army as a junior musician aged 16 and served for 24 years, retiring as a Band Sergeant Major.

He was awarded the Advanced Certificate in Band Studies and also the Diploma in Advanced Studies of Music.

Since retiring he has led a church community music group, and also been a member of other senior bands
